The quiz questions below are all related to
B.D. Gardner’s novel, A Year of Samantha. The Grand Prize Winner
of the contest will receive $1,000. To enter, fill in the
correct answers below each question in the box provided,
include your contact information in the online entry form,
then click on ‘submit’. Good luck
(The Reader Contest ends March 10, 2004. The quiz questions
have been derived from the paperback edition of A Year of
Samantha, first released January, 2003 by Xlibris Corporation,
a strategic partner of Random House Ventures. The winner will
be announced on this web site within 30 days after the closing
date of the contest.)

Official Contest Rules:

No Purchase Is Necessary. Entries must contain
the correct answers to all five of the quiz questions listed
above as well as your full name, address, and E-mail address
(if you have one).
Entries must be submitted via this web page. Only one entry per
person. In
order to be eligible, all entries must be received by March
10, 2004. Each
question is based upon information found in the novel A Year
of Samantha, which is available online from book retailers,
and also is available in some public libraries. If your local
library does not currently stock this new release, you may
be able to submit a request form with your local library
asking them to acquire this book for their lending
collection.

Each question has only one correct answer
and the correct answers have been pre-determined by the
Webmaster @ yearofSamantha.com. Each entry will be
judged by the Webmaster to determine whether the questions
have been correctly answered. The webmaster’s
decisions are final and binding. All completed
entries that contain the correct answers to all three
questions will be entered into a random drawing from which
the Prize winner will be selected on March 10, 2004 by the
webmaster in the presence of several official
witnesses. The
webmaster’s decision is final and binding. In the event the
winner is Canadian, she or he will be required to correctly
answer a time limited arithmetic skill question in order to
receive a prize.
The odds of winning are dependent on the number of
entries received.
In the event no one answers all the questions
correctly, the webmaster reserves the right not to award the
prize. The
winner will be notified by e-mail if an e-mail address was
supplied, or by regular mail if no e-mail address was
supplied with submission). No substitution of
prize allowed.
The webmaster is not responsible for incomplete or
lost or misdirected entries.

The Winner may be required to execute an
affidavit of eligibility and release and if so, the
affidavit must be returned within fourteen days of
notification or another winner will be selected.
Entering the Year of Samantha Reader Contest
constitutes permission for use of the winner’s name address
and likeness forpublicity and promotional purposes, with no
additional compensation. The winner will be announced on
this web site within 30 days after the closing date of
the contest.

residents of the United States and Canada
(excluding the Province of Quebec) eighteen years of age or
older, and is void wherever prohibited or restricted by
law. Employees
of yearofsamantha.com, their subsidiaries and affiliates,
and their immediate family members are not eligible to
enter. All
federal, state and local laws apply. Taxes, if any, are
the sole responsibility of the winner.
